Q2
Link is the main character in the novel stone cold. During the novel links life is continually getting worse but he still keeps going. " I'm looking for someone. My mate " His only friend and his only company ( ginger ) dies. Link still keeps on going even though he is alone and he also doesn't have a mentor any more, to teach him how to survive homelessness. This shows that link was tough and didn't give up even if all hope was lost. Link, the main character is very strong and doesn't give up easily

How do I… help rough sleepers

Homeless people have a hard life, so how can we help them? We read an article in the Guardian about how we can help rough sleepers.  " Should I give money? ". The most common answer is no! Why? If you give money to people on the streets it can make there life worse. Many people living on the streets want to forget about the fact that they are homeless so they buy drugs and alcohol with the money. What you can do is at least acknowledge them or even better give them food, just try not the give them money.  We are told to offer people sleeping rough food or a drink, or at the very least,  make some sort of  acknowledgement. It's hard being homeless and we should help people with no home.
                              Dossing down in doorways

So many people are living without a home. The article talks about the number of people who are homeless and reasons how they became without a home. "over two-fifths of men hit the street". So many men are on the streets but why? Some people have lost their jobs and wife's so have no money or any comfort. Another reason is that they have some mental illness. Many women too are left on the streets for similar reasons. "over a third of the women sleeping rough". As well as being left many people go though abuse so leave there home in order to get a better life. The number of people who are homeless is increasing

Homelessness paragraph

How do I... Help rough sleepers

The story of link is similar to to the article but there are also lots of differences. One of those is that link begs for money only to survive whereas other people buy drugs and alcohol with the money. In the book "Stone Cold" the character Link wasn't forced to leave but his stepfather wanted him to leave and Link thought it would be better if he did leave home. Link did not have any mental illnesses or wasn't left by his parents. In the story they sweeten the real horrors of being homeless. In real life not many people make friends and people don't give enough money to survive.  The story of Link is similar to to the article but there are many big differences.
