Paragraphs

Introducing paragraph:
In Macbeth there are five main ideas

"Fled to England?" In act 4, scene 1 power is leading Macbeth to corruption when Macbeth finds out that Macduff has fled to England. Macbeth is already corrupted and he gets angry and destroys everything macduff has. "I’ll raid Macduff’s castle, seize the town of Fife, and kill his wife, his children, and anyone else unfortunate enough to stand in line for his inheritance." Macbeth is talking to Lennox about how he's going to destroy all of Macduff's things and family. Macbeth is desperate for more power and he doesn't want anyone or anything to get in his way. Macbeth will do anything to keep his power as he can get and this leads to corruption.

"TRENCHING"In act 3 scene 4 the first murderer tells Macbeth how Banquo is dead. Blood and gore is used a lot in Macbeth especially to describe the killing and destruction of Duncan and Banquo. " with twenty trenching gashes on his head" The first murderer is talking to Macbeth about about how horrifically he killed Banquo. He said he has 20 deep cuts on his head. Macbeth wants Banquo and fleance dead but unfortunately only Banquo dies. Although he dies a very gory death. This is just one example of the the blood and gore in Macbeth. Blood and gore is a main part of Macbeth. Without it the play wouldn't be as good.

"Hurly-Burly"In act 1 scene 1 the witches are discussing when they will meet again. Supernatural is a key element in Macbeth. "When shall we three meet again? In thunder lighting or in rain ? " the witches are supernatural creatures. There is also nature imagery in this quote. In the play there are many supernatural things such as ghosts and witches. The witches tell Macbeth the future but not the whole truth. Without the witches the play would not happen. The ghost appearance in the shape of Banquo and this creates suspicion and tension in the play.  All these creatures add a eerie sense to the scenes their in. They add another element to the play.

Is he dead ?In act 3 scene 4 page 3 Banquo is late for a banquet and Macbeth knows that Banquo is dead but pretends that he is just late In Macbeth dramatic irony is used well. "Here had we now our country’s honor roofed, Were the graced person of our Banquo present," Who may I rather challenge for unkindness" This is just on example of dramatic irony in Macbeth. Dramatic irony is when the audience know something that the characters don't. We know that Banquo has been killed but know one at the banquet do. "Than pity for mischance."

"I’ll drain him dry as hay."In act 1 scene 3 the first witch is playing with the wind. Nature imagery is used a lot to explore the idea of nature being messed up. " if I already have control of all the other winds, " "I’ll give thee a wind." "Thou 'rt kind." "And I another." Macbeth is all about nature and how it's messed up. Nature being messed up represents how messed Macbeth's life is. This is a conversation between all the 3 witches. The witches are playing with nature to ruin a sailors life just because his wife wouldn't give her some food.  This isn't just nature imagery it is also about the powers of supernatural creatures.

Q2
Link is the main character in the novel stone cold. During the novel links life is continually getting worse but he still keeps going. " I'm looking for someone. My mate " His only friend and his only company ( ginger ) dies. Link still keeps on going even though he is alone and he also doesn't have a mentor any more, to teach him how to survive homelessness. This shows that link was tough and didn't give up even if all hope was lost. Link, the main character is very strong and doesn't give up easily
